MONTENEGRO - Conversations about space with interesting people on Yuri’s Night 2024.

Space Exploration Day is perhaps the most international holiday, uniting all people on the planet! It’s a day when humanity discovered a new direction to move towards — upwards. On this day, we remember the person who first stepped into the unknown — Yuri Gagarin. We look up at the night sky to see his path and all those who followed him. And we’re glade to become a bystander of these achievements.

We invite you to celebrate Space Exploration Day by joining the global party of Yuri’s Night. This evening, people will remember Yuri and celebrate this holiday all around the globe. In Montenegro, Yuri’s Night will be taking place in the suburb of Bar – Šušanj. There will be a telescope, helmet of a spacesuit, a barbecue, cevapi, conversations about space with interesting people, lectures and a friendly company at the party.

At 18:00, a lecture “Arrakis, the one we deserved” about the mysteries and beauty of planet Mars will be given by Vitaly Egorov. He is blogger Zelenyikot, a popularizer of space exploration, and founder of the “Space in Montenegro” community.

At 19:00, a lecture “Animals astronauts” will be conducted by zoologist Mikhail Berezhnoy. He is the author of the channel “In the World of Animals. Montenegro,” also he’s working on the “Atlas of Montenegro’s animals.”

At 20:00, we’ll have astronomical observations by using a telescope. We’ll watch the Pons-Brooks comet, Jupiter, the Pleiades, and the Orion Nebula.

We’ll also practice night astronomical photography.
